Strategist / Strategic Planner

OVERVIEW

Reporting directly to the Head of Strategy & Data Insights, you will be responsible for providing strategies, plans and tactical recommendations for client digital marketing programs for a broad range of users in the CPG, food & beverage, personal care and consumer healthcare environments. You will help build the initial plans and ensure the ongoing evolution of campaigns and projects that will drive business value for our clients, in close collaboration with the Client Services account team, Media, Social Media, Tech and Creative teams.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead the multi-channel strategy and communications planning on key accounts to help build brand experiences, connected across the user and customer journey;
  • Lead marketing and comms strategy as an expression of broader brand strategies, developing tactical campaigns, including KPIs and performance projections (across email, web, search, media, social, and emergent technologies);
  • Analyse, interpret & present key performance data insights (e.g. consumer behaviours, digital touchpoints, advertising / campaign performance, market research) and plans to optimise program performance;
  • Own and build the creative briefs, to ignite creative idea generation throughout our service offering;
  • Work closely with the Account teams to deliver on identified opportunities for existing client growth through data, insights and product offers;
  • Act as the thinking partner for clients and agency teams.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Experience in a mid- to senior level marketing strategy / strategic planner role (agency experience preferred);
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related quantitative field (additional specialised training or certifications preferred);
  • Expertise in developing digital marketing strategies and roadmaps, including all relevant consumer touchpoints as well as customer journey mapping;
  • Experience pulling, analysing and interpreting data to effectively create insights and develop tactical recommendations;
  • Experience in designing and delivering presentations to both external and internal audiences, including senior leadership.

Key Skills

  • Persuasive communicator with excellent presentation skills, bilingual English / French preferred;
  • Balance of deep knowledge in marketing strategy and specific tactical action planning;
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing data tools (e.g. Analytics, CRM, Data Visualisation, Market Research);
  • Ability to inspire others and lead by example in a matrix reporting environment;
  • Ability to deal with tight deadlines and competing priorities across multiple client accounts;
  • Highly organised: you are able to work autonomously with little guidance and meet project deadlines;
  • You take pride in achieving excellence and you take mistakes seriously;
  • Hustle and willingness to learn: you speak your mind and welcome feedback to ensure your team’s output is the best it can be.
